Mother's Day

I have to admit I am not much a paper craft person. But since I got my Silhouette SD (which is AMAZING) - I have been trying. Here is what I made:

I used the Silhouette file: 14-card_kit_flower_pot_C00482_20509

It was super easy and I think they turned out pretty cute. I had these pop dots - they were easy and gave the flowers a little dimension.
Yes, there are three of them - it is complicated and why I don't like mother's day. Oh, well it comes like it or not but I have the cards done and I think they are great.

New Wreath

I hadn't realized before how much I love wreaths & door hangings. I have recently started a new obsession. Blog surfing - be warned - craft blogs are addicting and WONDERFUL.
That is what has inspired me to start using my blog.

So, I saw this amazing wreath at Jones Design Company - this blog is amazing! So many great, great ideas. I digress. So I had to try. Here is what I made:
The tutorial is here. I know you want to make one - how could you not!
I will give my few (very few) suggestions on what I will change next time.
First - I've never worked with burlap before - it is messy! I would lay something down before I start to cut.
Second - I would use a 4" strip for the back ruffle and a 3" strip for the front ruffle. I like to see the back a bit more and ended up trimming mine.

The tutorial really is wonderful and I LOVE the end result.
My door looks so pretty.

Here is a close up of the flowers. The best part is they are all pinned on so I can change them out for the different seasons. Love it!

Need some more ideas? I am already planning on my next wreath. Here are a few I have been inspired by:

This is where I got the idea for the removable flowers. Genius!

I like to make stuff . . .

I really enjoy making things. There is just something wonderful about creating something and then stepping back and enjoying it.

One thing I love to make is bread:

For Easter I made some cute decorations:

I saw this idea and tutorial at Auntie Lolo Crafts.

The cutest thing I make are my babies. I have three and they are my life.

I am thankful for chocolate.
Lately I have been on a dark chocolate kick.
Here are my two current favorites:

One thing, they have to by Milky Way Midnight Minis. Yeah, I'm picky.

I am thankful for . . .

We had a very busy weekend, but it was a good one.
We blessed our baby daughter on Sunday which was wonderful.

I was thinking about when my children were born. Each was a unique experience, but I thought of something that I am very grateful for.
I know some women can handle child birth without drugs,
but I am NOT one of those women.

Day Three: I am thankful for . . .

I am thankful for four day work weeks.
My husband works four 10 hour shifts
It is the best schedule ever.

I don't know how we would get anything done with only a 2 day weekend.

Day Two: I am Thankful for . . .

I am very grateful for immunizations.
My sweet little baby (8 weeks old) is just getting over the chicken pox

I can NOT say I am grateful for the chicken pox but I am grateful that the
other two were immunized so I didn't have to stress about them getting it too.

It was a long two weeks but she is finally over it. Just a few lingering scabs. Thank goodness!
