Mother's Day

I have to admit I am not much a paper craft person. But since I got my Silhouette SD (which is AMAZING) - I have been trying. Here is what I made:

I used the Silhouette file: 14-card_kit_flower_pot_C00482_20509

It was super easy and I think they turned out pretty cute. I had these pop dots - they were easy and gave the flowers a little dimension.

Yes, there are three of them - it is complicated and why I don't like mother's day. Oh, well it comes like it or not but I have the cards done and I think they are great.

New Wreath

I hadn't realized before how much I love wreaths & door hangings. I have recently started a new obsession. Blog surfing - be warned - craft blogs are addicting and WONDERFUL.

That is what has inspired me to start using my blog.

So, I saw this amazing wreath at Jones Design Company - this blog is amazing! So many great, great ideas. I digress. So I had to try. Here is what I made:

The tutorial is here. I know you want to make one - how could you not!

I will give my few (very few) suggestions on what I will change next time.

First - I've never worked with burlap before - it is messy! I would lay something down before I start to cut.

Second - I would use a 4" strip for the back ruffle and a 3" strip for the front ruffle. I like to see the back a bit more and ended up trimming mine.

The tutorial really is wonderful and I LOVE the end result.

My door looks so pretty.

Here is a close up of the flowers. The best part is they are all pinned on so I can change them out for the different seasons. Love it!

I really enjoy making things. There is just something wonderful about creating something and then stepping back and enjoying it.

The cutest thing I make are my babies. I have three and they are my life.

We had a very busy weekend, but it was a good one.

We blessed our baby daughter on Sunday which was wonderful.

I was thinking about when my children were born. Each was a unique experience, but I thought of something that I am very grateful for.

Epidurals.

I know some women can handle child birth without drugs,

but I am NOT one of those women.

I am thankful for four day work weeks.

My husband works four 10 hour shifts.

It is the best schedule ever.

I don't know how we would get anything done with only a 2 day weekend.

Immunizations.

I am very grateful for immunizations.

My sweet little baby (8 weeks old) is just getting over the chicken pox.

I can NOT say I am grateful for the chicken pox but I am grateful that the

other two were immunized so I didn't have to stress about them getting it too.

It was a long two weeks but she is finally over it. Just a few lingering scabs. Thank goodness!

I am not much of a blogger (obviously - my last post was in July). But I thought this would be a good forum and a good excersise for me to post everyday (hopefully) something I am grateful for.

First and for most would be my family. I always knew I wanted to be a wife and mother. Although it is a challenging and often thankless job, I wouldn't give it up.

I am very grateful for my husband. He is my best friend, my rock, my whole world. He puts up with a lot of crap living with a crazy girl like me, but I am sure glad!

I am also grateful for my sweet babies. I didn't know what unconditional love really felt like until I had them. They have forever changed me. Changed me into a better person.

Custom Bow tie & Suspenders

I made this tee as a custom order for someone. I like the suspenders - it adds a some cute detail. I am not a huge fan of the bow tie but I think I am going to make one with a regular tie and suspenders.

Rock n Rags Facelift

I am ready to give my etsy site a face lift, unfortunately it will have to wait until after our family vacation. Don't worry - when I get back it will be bigger & better than ever. I am trying to finish up a bunch of new products before I leave so I can launch them all as soon as I get back.

I love my little models. I think Rowen is getting tired of trying on shirts, buy he is still cooperating. I just can't believe how cute the shirts are on him. I also wanted to sell a set so I put Ellie in a tie too - I think she pulled it off well.

This is my newest onesie. I absolutely love it! The black tie with the corduroy vest - too cute. I haven't posted it on etsy yet, hopefully later today.
